KTera: Reaper Preview Part 2

Reaper Exclusive Leveling Area

A new design, weapon, and even a new combat style. We have prepared the stage for the Reaper to prepare themselves to be part of TERA as soon as possible. When the Reaper is first created they will enter the world with key story quests and general quests completed up to level 50. From level 50 until 58, the Reaper will be able to level in an exclusive area to experience the back story and grow. In this area the Reaper class will be able to quickly gain the experience needed to move on as well as necessary gear and even cosmetic gear.

Reaper Gear

Closely following the release of the Reaper class will be the new instance dungeons. We hope that our players will be able to fully enjoy playing the new class after they've gained the experience.
But one problem arises and that is the gear. Last summer we had the Wonderholme update with new gear sets. Many players would feel it a waste to obtain gear for the Reaper from last summer's update to only replace it shortly after. Therefore we have provided a way for the Reaper to obtain gear as easily as possible to be on par with the rest of the classes. Below are some of the methods to obtain gear for the new class.
  • The Reaper will be unable to equip any of the current gear. Aside from the places indicated below, Reaper gear will not drop elsewhere.
  • The Reaper will not be able to craft/equip any of the craftable gear (ie. Nightforge).
  • The Reaper will be able to wear any accessory as they are not bound by class.
  • Until the new instance dungeon update the following are the only ways for the Reaper to obtain gear.

*The "new" Wonderholme set is simply a name change. Due to localizations not sure of what/if the name for NA will change.
  1. Leveling Area
    • Gear will be rewarded through completion of quests in the Reaper exclusive area and the level 58~60 fields to prepare for level 60.
  2. Instance Dungeons
    • Balder's Temple (Solo)
In Balder's Temple (Solo), players will be able to obtain gear that is the equivalent of a +9 Steadfast gear. This is not exclusive to the Reaper and will apply to all classes. This gear set cannot be enchanted.
    • Wonderholme
A Wonderholme set for the Reaper class will be added. Due to the name change, the current Wonderholme sets will not be available to equip for the Reaper.
  3. Battlegrounds
    • There will not be any PvP gear for the Reaper class until the release of the new dungeons. You may be thinking that you will be unable to prepare for PvP on the Reaper if current gear is unavailable. Do not worry. Once the new dungeon/gear update goes live the Battleground gear reward system will also be revised. Players will be able to obtain PvP gear with more ease after the change and from then on Reapers will also be able to obtain PvP gear.
    • Reapers will still be able to join equalized Battlegrounds (ie. Corsair's Stronghold, Kumasylum) to experience PvP.
  4. Events
    • For a duration after the release of the Reaper class there will be several events to allow players to obtain gear. If your Reaper reaches level 60 during the event period they will be rewarded with the new Reliquary set which should help you clear the 357 dungeons to farm accessories.
    • During the event, the 357 dungeons will have a chance to drop a Reaper exclusive style gear. The style gear is solely for its appearance and can be worn on top of gear with stats.
    • Furthermore, we've added Reaper exclusive gear to the drop table of Wonderholme (Hard). During the event the Reaper class will be able to easily obtain new gear.

The Reaper's Glyphs

The Glyph point aquisition for the Reaper will be the same as other classes. One Glyph point per level-up and because they start at level 50 they will have 41 points ready to use. But, Glyphs will be unavailable until level 58 and will unlock as you level from 58 to 60.
Furthermore, Reapers currently do not have any Master Glyphs at this time. We will look into the balancing issues between the Reaper and other classes first before implementing these.
The Reaper class is planned for release on January 15th. (KTERA)
